For horror movie lovers, the new part of Hollywood’s famous franchise ‘Evil Dead Burn’ has hit the theaters. Seeing the pace this film had gained at the box office in the initial days of its release, it seemed that it would give a tough competition to Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s upcoming female action film ‘Alpha’. However, after the initial growth, the film’s earnings are now continuously declining on working days (week days).
The film’s hold remains strong even after the decline
According to Sacnilk, a website that keeps track of box office figures, there has been a big decline in the collection of the film on the fifth day of its release i.e. Tuesday. While on Monday the film had done a net business of around Rs 2.10 crore with 3,824 shows, on Tuesday the number of shows came down to 2,472 and the earning came down to just Rs 1.21 crore. Usually the business of films slows down on working days, and the same is being seen with ‘Evil Dead Burn’.
Earned so many crores in five days
If we talk about the total journey of the film till now, it started with Rs 3.30 crore on the opening day. After this, it performed brilliantly on the weekend by collecting Rs 4.45 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.90 crore on Sunday. Within five days in India, the film has earned a net worth of around Rs 15.96 crore, while its gross collection has reached around Rs 18.90 crore.
Why did the film miss the mark?
Despite powerful horror scenes, tremendous bloodshed and excellent acting by the actors, the film is not connecting with the audience as expected. The makers and writers of the film have presented every Deadite character in a very cruel and scary manner, but they forgot to add ’emotional touch’ to the story. Due to this lack of emotions between the characters, the audience is not able to completely connect with the film.
There will be a real clash with Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’
After the first week, the real test of this horror film is about to begin, because in the second week it will need strong ‘word of mouth’ to stay in the theaters. The biggest challenge is going to be from Hollywood veteran director Christopher Nolan’s much-awaited film ‘The Odyssey’. There is a huge craze for Nolan’s films all over the world, so it will be interesting to see how far ‘Evil Dead Burn’ can stand at the box office in front of this great competition.
