England’s playing eleven announced for the first ODI against India! RCB star Jacob Bethel will open, Jos Buttler will create history England’s playing XI for the first ODI against India announced! RCB star Jacob Bethell to open, Jos Buttler eyeing history

The upcoming exciting three-match ODI series between India and England is going to start from July 14. Just before this great match, the host England team (Three Lions) has officially announced its strong and balanced playing eleven for the first ODI match to be played against India (Men in Blue). The biggest attraction of this announcement is Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) explosive player Jacob Bethel, who will be seen opening the innings for the first time in his 21-match ODI career. Ben Duckett will handle the opening with Bethel in this match to be held in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Jos Buttler will play his historic 200th ODI match

With this match, former England captain and brilliant wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler will take the field to play the 200th ODI of his career. With this, he will become only the second English player in history to play 200 ODI matches for England after the great Eoin Morgan. Apart from Butler in the batting order, excellent players like captain Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Will Jacques and the in-form veteran Joe Root at number 3 make the host team’s middle order more strong and dangerous.

Jofra Archer’s return and Josh Tong’s possible debut

Talking about the bowling department, the fast bowling attack will be led by lethal pacer Joffra Archer, who was not a part of the series against Sri Lanka earlier this year. Additionally, Josh Tong, who impressed with his stellar performance in the recently concluded T20 International series, is all set to make his much-awaited ODI debut in this match. The command of spin bowling will be in the hands of experienced Adil Rashid, to support whom left arm spinner Liam Dawson is also included in the playing eleven.

Indian team will look for a comeback after T20 defeat

England recently achieved a resounding 4-0 win in the T20I series against India, and now the visiting team will look to make a strong comeback in the ODI format. This tour has been challenging for India so far, so the Men in Blue would like to make a great start in the series by winning this first ODI. The first match will be played in Birmingham, while the upcoming second and third ODIs of the series will be held at the historic grounds of Cardiff and Lord’s on July 16 and 19 respectively.
