Jaipur, 8 April (HS). Rajasthan High Court has once again commented on the weak prosecution of cases and the absence of officers in-charge of the case. The court has said that it seems that the government is not ready to change the system. Along with this, the court has called the Mines Secretary on 29th April along with the records. The court has asked the Principal Law Secretary to submit an affidavit in this regard within two weeks. A single bench of Justice Ashok Kumar Jain gave this order on the appeal of the state government.
According to the case, the state government had presented an application for early hearing on this appeal which was going on since 2002. During the hearing, both the officer in-charge of the case and the authorized lawyer were not present. Instead of the government lawyer, a lawyer who was not in the government panel came to represent.
It is noteworthy that earlier the court had summoned the Chief Secretary and Principal Law Secretary. Apart from this, the High Court had also taken serious note of non-submission of reply in a case for four years and had asked to bring the matter to the notice of the Governor. In this case, the court had even commented that the attitude of the state government cannot be called public welfare under any circumstances. Due to such laxity, the justice system is failing and the unemployed are having to come to the courts.
