The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing alleged cases of irregularities in the offerings and donations of Lord Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in the religious city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh has intensified its action. On Sunday, the SIT summoned Hindu Dharmasena chief and former District Panchayat member Santosh Dubey and interrogated him for a long time. Santosh Dubey has long been vocal against former general secretary of Ram Mandir Trust Champat Rai and other senior officials over the cases of theft of temple offerings. It is now expected that the scope of investigation will increase and big revelations will be made in this high-profile case.

Virtual and direct interrogation took place in the police jurisdictional office

On Sunday, SIT member and investigating officer Kiran S interrogated Santosh Dubey for more than half an hour at the Police Officer (CO) city office of Ayodhya. During this time, the SIT examined each and every link of all the serious allegations made by him. Santosh Dubey had made several allegations in the media and various forums about financial irregularities like theft of offerings in the temple and purchasing of low value land at expensive prices. On the basis of these statements, the SIT asked him logical and legal questions and demanded concrete documents to prove these claims.

Details sought of land deals and Ram Shilas from 2002 till now

During interrogation, SIT asked Santosh Dubey what basis and records he had regarding theft of offerings and other scams. In response to this, Santosh presented complete details before the SIT, from the old case of theft of 1250 Ram Shilas in the year 2002 to the present theft of offerings. He told the investigation team that such irregularities have been happening in the temple premises for a long time, but under the cover of the matter, only small employees are being made pawns, while the real responsible high officials have been avoiding this entire game.

All documentary evidence will be handed over to SIT today

After coming out of the police office late in the evening, Santosh Dubey confirmed while talking to the media that the SIT has asked for all the digital and written records related to his allegations. He clarified that he has solid and secure documents of all the cases, which he will officially present before Lucknow and the SIT on Monday. Santosh Dubey said in no uncertain terms that he is ready to go to any extent to erase this sacred stigma of Ayodhya and Ram Temple, and if his allegations are proved to be false, he is fully prepared to face every kind of legal punishment.
