Amidst the activation of monsoon in Jharkhand, the weather has suddenly become very harsh. The Meteorological Center (IMD Ranchi) has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for all 24 districts of the state in view of the natural changes. According to reporter inputs, there are strong chances of lightning, strong storm and torrential rain in 14 major districts of the state today. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the general public to be extremely cautious and take shelter in safe places during inclement weather.
The biggest danger of storm and lightning is looming in these 14 districts
According to meteorologists, the 14 districts where the maximum impact of nature can be seen today include big commercial and residential areas like the capital Ranchi, coalfield Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamshedpur (East Singhbhum), Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Gumla and Dumka. In these areas, the wind speed can reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in the afternoon, with which there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder. Waterlogging may also occur in the low-lying areas of these districts.
Why did Orange Alert have to be issued and what is its meaning?
When the Meteorological Department issues an orange alert for an area, it simply means that the people living there should prepare themselves for extremely bad weather. This seasonal system has formed due to the moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal and a strong cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand. Due to this system, the risk of being struck by lightning increases the most. Farmers have been specifically advised not to go to the fields during this period and avoid standing under trees or electric poles.
There will be an impact on public life and traffic, administration is ready
In view of this dire warning, district administrations of big cities like Ranchi, Dhanbad and Deoghar have started taking precautionary measures. Electricity departments have been put on alert in view of the possibility of electrical wires breaking and trees falling due to the storm. Apart from this, security of tourists has been increased on hilly roads and around waterfalls. There may be a partial impact of this changed weather pattern on the operation of airlines and trains, so before leaving home, definitely check the update of your travel.
