Political earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir! CM Omar Abdullah’s big claim – ‘BJP gave Rs 20-30 crore to NC MLA and lured him for ministerial post’

Jammu Kashmir Politics: Once again there is a big earthquake in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has made a very serious allegation of horse-trading (buying and selling of MLAs) on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Addressing a public meeting on Saturday (July 11, 2026), CM Omar Abdullah claimed that the BJP has forced a Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) MLA to switch sides. 20 to 30 crore rupees and cabinet minister post Was given a strong lure.

The Chief Minister said that his MLA immediately rejected this big offer and informed him directly about the entire incident. After this revelation, political temperature has risen from the valley to Delhi.

‘Supreme Court lawyer and BJP leader made the offer behind closed doors’

Omar Abdullah targeted a senior BJP official without naming him. He said, “A BJP official, who is also a Supreme Court lawyer, met one of my MLAs from Jammu region behind closed doors. He told the MLA that you come with us, we will give you Rs 20-30 crore, a ministry and statehood.”

Making a sharp retort to this, the Chief Minister said, does the BJP think that the honor of the National Conference leaders and the public trust is so cheap that it can be bought with money?

‘BJP is trying to come to power through the back door’

Omar Abdullah gave a direct warning to the BJP and said that they should never make the mistake of underestimating the National Conference. He said, “People of BJP, do not consider us so weak. It is not possible for you to enter power through the back door (thief door). You will not be able to reach the front chair (Chief Minister’s chair) through the back door. At present, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have made you sit in the opposition i.e. behind and you will remain there.”

Even if permission is not granted, a massive demonstration will be held in Delhi on 20th July.

National Conference to be held to demand full statehood status for Jammu and Kashmir. A big protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi on 20 July 2026 Going to do. The Chief Minister revealed that permission for this demonstration has not yet been given by the Central Government and Delhi Police.

Omar Abdullah’s resolution: Whether we get permission or not, our program for July 20 is fixed and it will go ahead. This fight is not only of the National Conference, but of every citizen and every political party of Jammu and Kashmir.

He appealed to all present and former MLAs of the valley and leaders of all opposition parties to forget the electoral rivalries and battles for the next three years and come to Delhi unitedly in this common fight to get full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. He said that those leaders who stay away from this demonstration due to fear or pressure will betray the public.

‘Cockroach Party’ got permission in 24 hours, why not us?

Taking a dig at the problems being faced regarding permission to protest in Delhi, CM Omar Abdullah said, “It did not take even 24 hours for a ‘cockroach party’ to get permission to hold a protest in Delhi, whereas we have been trying to get permission for the last 4-5 days. Some forces are deliberately conspiring to spoil our big event and have deliberately mixed their dates with our event.”

Demand for statehood continues after removal of Article 370

It is noteworthy that in August 2019, the Central Government had abrogated Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and divided the state into two union territories (Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh). After this, in the year 2023, the Supreme Court also upheld this decision of the Center as constitutional. However, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured in Parliament that once the situation in the valley becomes completely normal, the status of full state will be returned to Jammu and Kashmir. The National Conference is now preparing to make noise in Delhi to fulfill this promise.
