During this, importance of postal vote, postal vote eligibility, process, postal vote convenience centre, pre-voting process at convenience centre, voting at postal vote convenience centre, postal vote authentication, closure of convenience center voting, absentee voters etc. were explained.
It was also told in the training that the Commission has given the right to postal vote by giving the status of absentee voter to special category voters. Essential service voters will have to vote at the convenience centers only, but for senior citizen (85 years of age and above) voters, disabled voters (with more than 40 percent disability) and absentee voters, the Commission has decided to conduct door-to-door voting. . Voters of these categories get themselves registered by applying in Form 12-D. A team of polling officers along with local BLOs will visit the homes of these voters under police protection and in the knowledge of the candidates and in the presence of their representatives.
