There is a very important and useful news for the people living in the country’s national capital Delhi. On Saturday, July 11, electricity supply is going to be completely affected for several hours in many major and VIP areas of Delhi. According to electricity department officials, this cut is not happening due to any fault or technical fault in the power grid, but in view of the monsoon season, it is being done for necessary maintenance and upgrading of the power system.

Necessary work related to strengthening the infrastructure and maintenance of sub-stations is being done by BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL), the major electricity supply company in Delhi. Due to this, there will be problem of power cut in residential areas falling under different divisions at different times on Saturday. The electricity department has advised the local residents to plan their day’s important work according to this fixed schedule and make necessary arrangements like filling water before the power cut.

Schedule of Dwarka, Najafgarh and Chhatarpur divisions

According to the official schedule released by BSES, power cuts in western and southern parts of Delhi will be as follows:

• Palam Division: There may be power supply disruption in Block-P Raj Nagar Extension and surrounding areas of Sector-8, Dwarka from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

• Mohan Garden: There is a possibility of power cut of about three hours in the areas of Block C, Sewak Park, Dwarka from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm.

• Najafgarh Division: There will be a declared power cut in Kanganhedi village and its associated rural areas from 11:00 am to 01:00 pm.

• Chhatarpur Division: People may face power cuts in residential areas of Rajpur Khurd Extension, Chhatarpur from 11:00 am to 01:00 pm.

Supply will remain closed in Tagore Garden and Khanpur Division also

Maintenance work will also be carried out rapidly in some major pockets of Central and South-East Delhi, the time frame of which is given below:

• Tagore Garden Division: From 11:07 am to 02:07 pm, power supply will be completely cut off for about three hours in Block S, Khayala, Vishnu Garden and nearby colonies.

• Khanpur Division (Shift 1): There will be power cut in Block C, Vishwakarma Colony, Pulpehladpur and interior parts of Khanpur village from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

• Khanpur Division (Shift 2): From 02:00 pm to 03:30 pm, electricity supply will be affected in the residential houses of Pocket C, Duggal Colony, Khanpur and JJ Colony, Duggal Colony.
