According to a report released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday, the number of telecom subscribers has increased to 119.7 crore in the month of February, which is 0.38 percent more as compared to January last month. According to the report of telecom regulator TRAI, the number of urban telephone subscribers increased by 0.40 percent to 66.37 crore in February, while rural subscribers reached 53.13 crore with a sequential growth rate of 0.34 percent.

According to TRAI's monthly report, the total number of broadband subscribers also increased to 91.67 crore at the end of February, which was 91.10 crore at the end of January. According to the report, the share of the top five telecom service providers in the broadband market is 98.35 percent. These include Reliance Jio 52.2 percent, Bharti Airtel 29.41 percent, Vodafone Idea 13.80 percent, BSNL 2.69 percent, and Atria Convergence 0.24 percent.

According to the telecom regulator's report, there has been a growth in subscriber base in all circles in both landline and mobile services sectors in February. The number of landline subscribers increased by 1.73 per cent to 3.31 crore at the end of February. According to TRAI, public companies BSNL, MTNL and APSFL had a total share of 28.18 percent in the landline market. At the same time, the total number of wireless subscribers increased to 116.46 crore in February with a monthly growth of 0.34 percent.
