Fear of Iran or alert of Secret Service? Trump changed plane midway, left Qatar’s luxurious jet and sat in old ‘Air Force One’ Iran fear or Secret Service alert? Trump changed planes mid-flight, leaving behind a luxury Qatari jet and boarding the old Air Force One

Amidst the deepening military conflict between America and Iran, a very sensational and shocking case has come to light regarding the security of US President Donald Trump. While returning to Washington from the NATO summit held in Ankara, Turkey, President Trump changed his plane midway. Trump suddenly left the state-of-the-art Boeing 747-8 VIP jet recently gifted by Qatar and boarded his old and trusted ‘Air Force One’ aircraft. This sudden security change at Britain’s RAF Mildenhall military base has given rise to many discussions and speculations at the global level.

Secret Service’s intelligence advice and a major cleanup of the White House

According to an investigative report by ‘The New York Times’, in view of the serious situation arising after the missile attacks between America and Iran, the US Secret Service had confidentially advised President Trump to immediately change the aircraft. Security officials believe the move was taken out of an abundance of caution and precaution rather than any specific intelligence input. In fact, the new Boeing aircraft received from Qatar has not yet been fully installed with all those military-grade advanced defense features, missile evading systems and electronic counter-measures, which are present in the original fleet of ‘Air Force One’ which has been protecting the President for decades.

However, the White House has rejected those reports and claims that the new aircraft was being described as unsafe. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung issued an official statement clarifying that the new jet received from Qatar is also fully equipped with “high-level security protocols.” Revealing the security strategy, he said that the administration uses every available intelligence tool including ‘Decoy and Diversion’ to ensure impenetrable security of the President.

Trump said- ‘I am number one in Iran’s hit list, changed plane for old memories’

President Donald Trump himself, in his own style, dismissed in front of the media the issue of changing planes mid-way and security concerns. While talking to the journalists present on the plane after taking off from Britain for Washington, Trump candidly said, “There is always a threat to my life. I am number one on their (Iran’s) hit list.”

Trump further revealed that the main purpose of his stop at the British military base was to show the American troops stationed there this brand new and luxurious aircraft received from Qatar. He said that the American soldiers were very excited to see it and even got their pictures clicked there. While explaining the reason behind shifting to the old ‘Air Force One’, Trump jokingly said that he decided to travel by this plane only to “refresh his old memories”.

Window curtains had to be kept closed; Strict restrictions because of sleazebags

During this very sensitive journey, the White House press pool and journalists traveling in the old Air Force One were given very strict instructions by the flight crew to keep the blinds of the windows completely closed. Journalists were prohibited from looking outside or recording any kind of location. Trump later clarified that the restriction applied only to co-passengers for security reasons, not to his own private cabin. Pointing directly towards America’s enemies and Iran, he said in sharp words that maybe because of some “sleazebags” (suspicious elements) operating outside, the Secret Service had to impose such strict restrictions.

Why did the spark of war suddenly flare up between America and Iran?

This entire high-profile incident of changing the President’s aircraft has happened at a time when a direct military conflict has started between Iran and America in the Middle East. The US has repeatedly launched heavy airstrikes and bombardments on Iranian targets, accusing Tehran of attacking commercial ships and oil tankers in the international waterway ‘Strait of Hormuz’.

In response to this American military action, Iran has also fired several ballistic missiles and suicide drones targeting American military bases located in Bahrain and Kuwait. The situation in the Gulf countries has worsened to such an extent that warning sirens of missile attacks are continuously resonating over the American military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. Meanwhile, Kuwait’s army has officially claimed that it has shot down several Iranian missiles and drones coming towards its border in mid-air through the Patriot Defense System.
