Aligarh-Moradabad Greenfield Highway: Sambhal will get a big gift, NHAI started acquiring land of 69 villages; The face of the area will change

Work has started on a very ambitious project to accelerate the economic and social development of Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. The new four/six lane ‘Greenfield Access Controlled Highway’ directly connecting Aligarh and Moradabad is going to change the entire connectivity picture of Sambhal district. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has expedited the official process of land acquisition in Sambhal for this mega project. The construction of this new highway will not only ease the traffic but will also give a new strength to the business corridor of Western Uttar Pradesh.

Why will this project prove to be a game changer for Sambhal?

This new greenfield highway will not only reduce the travel and time between Aligarh and Moradabad, but it will also emerge as the best and modern alternative to the already busy Agra-Moradabad National Highway. The biggest feature of this project is that after its construction, Sambhal district will be directly connected to the National Highway Network of the country for the first time. Additionally, this corridor will also be linked to Uttar Pradesh’s dream project ‘Ganga Expressway’, providing direct expressway connectivity to local industries. This will open new doors for handicrafts, agriculture and trade in Sambhal.

69 villages of Sambhal and Gunnaur tehsil will come under the ambit of the highway.

According to the survey of NHAI, the land of a total of 69 villages of Sambhal district is coming under the purview of this new greenfield highway. These include 40 major villages of Sambhal tehsil and 29 major villages of Gunnaur tehsil. The district administration has taken strict steps to keep the entire process of compensation given to farmers and land owners of these affected villages transparent, digital and dispute free.

Crackdown on land mafia: Ban on unauthorized construction and registration

The administration has completely banned the purchase and sale of land (registry), land use change and any type of new or unauthorized construction around the highway route in the 69 villages that have been declared affected and is keeping a close watch on this. The main objective of this strictness is to protect the government revenue from any kind of loss. Along with this, many times some people do illegal construction overnight on the highway land to increase the compensation amount, to stop this the administration has already clarified the situation with the help of drones and satellite mapping so that there is no legal hurdle in the future regarding the distribution of compensation.

From Moradabad to Aligarh: This will be the complete route map of the highway.

As per the proposed blueprint, this modern highway will proceed from the direction of Moradabad and enter Sambhal border from Pota and Dhura villages of Hazratnagar Garhi area of Sambhal district. From here it will proceed directly towards the famous Kailadevi religious area. After this, it will cross the huge river Ganga near Jijoda Danda of Babrala via Rajpura area of Gunnaur tehsil. It will further touch the borders of Bulandshahr district and reach Aligarh directly through a new modern bridge on river Ganga.

After the complete completion of Aligarh-Moradabad Greenfield Highway, the distance and travel time for the citizens of Sambhal to big cities like Delhi, Noida, Lucknow and Aligarh will be reduced to half. Also, due to better infrastructure, new logistics hubs and factories will be established in the area, which will develop thousands of new sources of employment for the local youth.
