With the increasing activity of south-west monsoon in Bihar, the weather pattern has become very aggressive. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a huge alert in many parts of the state for tomorrow i.e. 8th July. According to meteorologists, in the next 24 hours, many districts of Bihar may see not normal rain, but severe thunderstorms and lightning, due to which life is likely to be affected.

Meteorological Department’s serious warning for these districts

According to the latest bulletin of Patna Meteorological Centre, the weather will be most dangerous in the districts of north-west and south-east Bihar on July 8. Heavy rain with thunder has been predicted especially in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Katihar, Madhepura, Purnia and Saharsa districts. Apart from this, special warning has also been issued in Gaya, Bhagalpur, Banka, Kaimur and Rohtas of South Bihar regarding torrential rains.

Stormy winds will blow at a speed of 50 km

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, along with the rain, there are chances of strong storm winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in these affected areas. At some places, the wind speed may be even higher, which may cause damage to mud houses, trees and electric poles. There will be respite from the humid heat, but this combination of storm and water can create big trouble for the pedestrians and farmers.

Disaster management and IMD’s advice to the general public

In view of the increasing dangers of lightning (thunderstorm), the Disaster Management Department and IMD have appealed to the people to take special precautions. Take shelter in safe places or permanent houses during bad weather. Farmer brothers working in the fields should avoid standing under trees and maintain distance from electrical equipment. This unstable weather pattern is expected to continue across the state for the next 4 to 5 days.
