Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again made a sharp attack on the Modi government at the Centre. This time their target is the industrial policies of the government and the new rules of the Road Transport Ministry. Rahul Gandhi has clearly alleged that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) are being deliberately destroyed in the country and government policies are being made only to benefit big industrialists.
‘Make in India’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ are just phrases
Rahul Gandhi has recently shared a video of Jaipur, Rajasthan on his social media account. In this video, he is seen visiting local bus and truck body manufacturing factories in Jaipur and talking to the artisans working there. Sharing the experience of this tour, Rahul wrote that words like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ have become mere slogans. On the ground, the artisans who are creating the country’s future and employment with their own hands are facing huge problems due to government policies.
Serious questions raised on the rules of Transport Ministry
Rahul Gandhi has described the officials of the Transport Ministry sitting in Delhi and the rules made by them as fatal for small industries. He said that the entire blame for fires or other technical faults in buses is put on these poor and skilled artisans, whereas the real problem lies in the rules.
The Congress leader warned that if small-scale factories continue to close like this, it will not just be a loss of business. Due to this, a major skill of the country will be lost, lakhs of jobs will be lost and the burden of inflation on the general public will increase further.
Artisans create employment and progress of the nation
Sharing his experience, Rahul Gandhi wrote in the post, “Amidst the sheets of iron, sparks of welding and the sound of hammers, these artisans shape the future of India with their hard work.” He said that these workshops in Jaipur show the real picture of India, which is creating both employment and momentum to take the country forward with its own hands. In the video, Rahul Gandhi is seen listening very attentively to the problems of these artisans and promising to raise them on the platform.
Had also met Nitin Gadkari
Let us tell you that the Congress Party has already raised its voice regarding these serious problems of small truck and bus body manufacturers. The context of this Jaipur visit is also important because on March 18, a delegation led by Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had met Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
In this meeting, the delegation had presented the claim before the government that due to the implementation of new standards and excessive duties, many small manufacturers will go out of business, which could deepen the crisis on the livelihood of millions of families. Now Rahul Gandhi has once again tried to put pressure on the government by raising this issue.
