The brutality and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Baruipur, West Bengal has brought the state to a boil. After the girl’s body was found in a sack, an angry mob beat one of the accused to death. Meanwhile, TMC has made a big claim saying that former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was going to meet the victim’s family, has been put under house arrest.

What is the dreadful incident of Baruipur?

The girl had gone out to buy a birthday gift on Saturday in Baruipur, 15 km from Kolkata, when four people kidnapped her. Later, when his dead body was found, huge tension spread in the area. People have come out on the streets and are demanding hanging of the culprits. Police have arrested 4 people in the case.

War of words between TMC and BJP

TMC alleges that at the behest of Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari, Mamata Banerjee is being stopped from leaving the house. The party has also shared videos of heavy police deployment on social media. At the same time, BJP has termed these allegations as baseless and termed it as mere ‘political drama’. CM Shubhendu Adhikari has called the victim’s family and assured them of strict action.
