According to the report of AFP, the most ferocious form of this superstorm is being seen on Guam and Northern Mariana Islands, where the total population is about 2 lakh 10 thousand. Torrential rains and gusting winds have started on these islands since late Sunday night. After the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a red alert, the local police and administration have given strict instructions to the people not to come out of their homes, due to which the roads of both the islands have become completely deserted.

Big warning about collapse of buildings and power outage for weeks

According to the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre, this super typhoon will move rapidly towards the west on Monday morning. Authorities have issued the most serious warning for the island of Rota. The administration says that if this storm hits the center of Rota island, a large number of permanent houses and buildings may collapse, which will not be habitable for several weeks. Apart from this, due to uprooting of big trees and electric poles, the entire area can be plunged into complete darkness for several days.

Seeing the seriousness of the threat, Rota Island Mayor Aubrey Hocog has made an emotional appeal to the public, saying that to deal with this natural disaster, everyone will have to unite and protect their families and neighbors. Meanwhile, due to Super Typhoon ‘Bavi’, all domestic and international flights to Guam have been completely cancelled, leaving hundreds of tourists stranded in hotels. At the same time, there is a fear among the local residents that their livelihood will come to a complete halt due to being confined to their homes for several days.
