Jodhpur, 8 April (Hindustan Reporter) Many programs were organized in the city today on Somvati Amavasya. Indian New Year will also begin with Chaitra Pratipada from Tuesday. Here in the city today, on Somvati Amavasya, people made a lot of donations and special ritual programs were organized in temples. There was also a solar eclipse on Somvati Amavasya. On Somvati Amavasya, Havan was organized by the temple committee at Shri Vishwakarma Temple located at Baiji Ka Talab. Advocate Harish Jangid, Secretary of the Temple Committee, said that the Havan was performed as per the rituals by Arya Virendra Bhakrecha with the chanting of Vedic mantras.
