Amidst the continuous questions being raised regarding the allegations of theft of offerings in Ayodhya Ram Temple (Ram Mandir Donation Scam), Treasurer of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Swami Govind Giri Maharaj has finally broken his silence. After Zee News raised questions on his accountability, he issued a signed letter and presented his clarification. Govind Giri shied away from his role and responsibility in this entire controversy and said that he often stays out of work in connection with the stories and comes to Ayodhya only once in a month and a half, hence most of the responsibilities were not his. He expressed hope that soon the truth will come out and the clouds of doubt will be dispelled.
Huge anger among the saints and sages of Ayodhya, serious questions raised
After this clarification by Treasurer Govind Giri, the resentment among the saints and general public of Ayodhya has increased further. Mahants and priests of Hanuman Garhi along with prominent saints of Ayodhya, Dr. Diveshacharya, Shashikant Das, Gunjan Das, Sitaram Das and Dr. Chandranshu Maharaj held a press conference and put Govind Giri in the dock. The saints say that since they are the treasurers of the trust, the entire responsibility for the security and accounting of donations rests with them. The saints defended Champat Rai and said that he has been serving Ramlala selflessly for decades, while the real responsible person is avoiding coming forward.
