With the activation of monsoon in Jharkhand, the weather pattern has completely changed. While the people of the state who are struggling with the scorching heat have got a lot of relief from this monsoon shower, on the other hand this changed form of nature can also become a cause of trouble for some areas. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD Ranchi) has issued a severe weather warning in most parts of the state today. According to meteorologists, due to a strong weather system being active, there is every possibility of torrential rains along with high speed winds in 19 districts of the state today.

According to the latest bulletin of Weather Center Ranchi, the weather may be most aggressive today in central and southern districts like capital Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Bokaro and Gumla. There is a strong possibility of lightning strike along with intense thunder in these areas. Apart from this, dark clouds have also camped in the districts of Santal Pargana and Kolhan divisions like East and West Singhbhum, Seraikela, Dumka and Deoghar since morning. Within a few hours, heavy rains with thunderstorms moving at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour may begin in these areas.

Disaster Management Department appeals to people, do not come out of homes in bad weather

In view of the loss of life and property due to lightning during monsoon in Jharkhand, the administration is on full alert mode. The Disaster Management Department and the Meteorological Department have issued special guidelines for local citizens, especially farmers and cattle herders in rural areas. People have been given strict instructions not to take shelter in big trees, electric poles or open fields when there is lightning in the sky. Farmer brothers should immediately stop working in the fields and stay safe inside pucca houses. Municipal corporations have also been asked to be prepared to deal with waterlogging and traffic jams in urban areas.
