
Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) action against corruption is continuing in Jharkhand. In this sequence, once again a case of bribery in a government office has come to light. The ACB team has arrested the head clerk red handed while taking a bribe of eight thousand rupees, who was demanding bribe in exchange for giving benefits of public welfare schemes like toilet construction scheme. After this action, there has been a stir in the government department of the district. This strict action against corruption is a strong message to all those middlemen and corrupt officials who try to embezzle money that is rightfully theirs from the poor.
This is how bribery was exposed
According to the information received, the complainant had lodged a complaint with the ACB about the head clerk demanding money in lieu of releasing the money for toilet construction. After receiving the complaint, the team investigated the matter and laid a trap as per the entire plan. As soon as the head clerk took eight thousand rupees of bribe in his hand, the ACB team already ready there caught him. The team arrested the accused clerk and took him with them, where he is being interrogated further.
Robbery on the rights of the poor, instructions for strict action
The aim of government schemes is to provide facilities to the last man standing, but such incidents bring disrepute to the system. In view of the increasing number of such incidents in the state, the Chief Minister and senior officials have already issued instructions that a policy of zero tolerance should be adopted in any case of corruption. An FIR has been registered against the arrested accused clerk under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Local residents say that the administration should ensure strictest punishment in this case so that no employee can dare like this in future.
