A very shocking and disturbing news has come out from a government residential school in Jharkhand. The health of more than 100 girl students suddenly deteriorated after having dinner in the school hostel. Within no time, the girl students started complaining of severe vomiting, diarrhea and stomach ache, which created chaos in the entire school campus. The sick girls were hurriedly taken to the nearest government hospital, where due to the arrival of such a large number of patients at once, the doctors and health workers were overwhelmed and an atmosphere of great chaos was created in the hospital premises.
Health deteriorated after dinner, fear of food poisoning
According to information received from local sources, the girls complained of uneasiness shortly after the food was served to them for dinner. As midnight passed, the condition of many girl students started becoming critical one after the other. Seeing the worsening of the situation, the hostel management immediately admitted all the victimized girl students to the district hospital and community health center with the help of ambulance and local vehicles. Doctors initially believe that it is a direct case of food poisoning, which could be due to spoilage of food or lack of hygiene during the humid and summer season.
Screaming in the hospital, administration and team of doctors on alert
Due to more than a hundred girls reaching the hospital simultaneously, there was a shortage of beds, after which the health department took immediate action and deployed additional beds and doctors in the emergency ward. Treatment of many girls had to be started by applying drip on the floor and stretcher itself. As soon as information about the incident was received, top administrative officials of the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and police forces reached the spot. The administration has consoled the victim’s family and has instructed the doctors not to show any negligence in the treatment of the girls. It is a matter of relief that the condition of most of the girl students is now said to be stable.
Investigation into school kitchen and ration started, culprits will be held accountable
After this serious negligence, Jharkhand Education Department and District Administration have taken a strict stand against the school. The Food Safety Department (Food Safety Team) has sealed the samples of food, drinking water and ration being used from the hostel kitchen and sent them to the lab for testing. There is huge anger among parents regarding this incident; They allege that poor quality food was being given to the children in the hostel for a long time. Officials say that as soon as the investigation report comes, strict legal action will be taken by registering an FIR against the hostel warden, mess operator and the concerned contractor.
