DU UG Admission 2026: Race for graduation admission begins in Delhi University, not just CUET score; 12th subjects will also decide your seat

New Delhi/Education Desk: Delhi University (DU) has officially started the process of admission to Undergraduate (UG) courses for the academic session 2026-27. This time also the admission will be completely based on the score of CUET UG 2026, but students have to keep in mind that just getting good marks is not enough. According to the strict rules of DU, it is mandatory for the candidate to have studied and passed the subject in 12th class in which he wants to do graduation. This entire admission process of Delhi University will be completed online in three different phases through ‘Common Seat Allocation System’ i.e. CSAS portal.

Understand the complete admission process of Delhi University in three steps.

To get a seat in Delhi University, students have to go through three mandatory stages, which are as follows:

  • First Step (Registration): First of all, students have to do their basic registration by visiting the official CSAS portal of DU.

  • Second Step (Preference Filling): In this stage, candidates will have to fill the preference list of colleges and courses of their choice online.

  • Third phase (seat allotment): Finally, the seat will be allotted automatically by the computer based on the student’s CUET score and his/her chosen preferences.

‘Subject mapping’ is most important, one mistake can lead to cancellation of claim.

The most important task in the second phase of admission will be ‘Subject Mapping’. Under this, the university will check whether the subjects chosen by the student in the CUET exam match his 12th report card or not. On the basis of this subject mapping, the software itself will decide for which course the student is eligible and how his final merit list will be prepared. If there is any discrepancy in the rules, the application may also be rejected.
