Trickery will no longer work in UPSC! Commission’s historic decision after Pooja Khedkar controversy, fake candidates will get trapped in the new digital maze. No more outsmarting the UPSC! Commission’s historic decision following the Puja Khedkar controversy; Fraudulent candidates to get trapped in a new digital web.

There is a very big and bad news for those trying to get entry in the examinations of the country’s most prestigious administrative service ‘UPSC’ (Union Public Service Commission) with the help of fraud and fake certificates. Taking a tough lesson from the famous Pooja Khedkar case which recently made headlines across the country, the Commission has decided to completely change its entire selection and verification system. Now it will be impossible for candidates who resort to trickery or fraud in UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) to escape. The Commission is preparing a modern and foolproof digital mechanism, which will closely analyze the claims of every candidate from the first stage of application till the final selection.

Why was there a need for this major overhaul after the Pooja Khedkar case?

Former trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar was facing serious allegations of disability and misusing the non-creamy layer quota of Other Backward Classes (OBC), after which the Commission had canceled her selection. This high-profile controversy had exposed the flaws in UPSC’s traditional verification system. Since then, there was a huge resentment regarding transparency among the honest candidates of the country and the students preparing for civil services. To restore this credibility and completely prevent such incidents in future, the Commission has had to take this tough and historic step.

New verification system will be equipped with AI and biometrics

Under the new master plan of the Commission, now only paper documents will not be trusted. Artificial Intelligence (AI) based facial recognition, advanced digital fingerprinting and biometric authentication are being made mandatory in the new system. This means that from the candidate sitting in the examination hall to the person reaching the interview room, the identity will be completely digital. Further, OBC, EWS and Disability certificates submitted by the candidates will be verified in real-time directly from the centralized database of the issuing government departments.

Wave of happiness among students of big coaching hubs like Mukherjee Nagar and Prayagraj

As soon as the news of this big change came, lakhs of serious candidates studying in major UPSC coaching hubs of the country like Mukherjee Nagar of Delhi, Karol Bagh, Prayagraj (Allahabad) of Uttar Pradesh, Patna of Bihar and Jaipur of Rajasthan have heaved a sigh of relief. Students who have been working day and night for years at the local level say that people who grabbed the quota through fraudulent means used to steal their rightful seats. With the advent of this new and transparent rule, now only those candidates who really deserve it and who have made a place in the merit list on the basis of their hard work will get a chance.

Accurate analysis of UPSC’s new rules on AI search and modern answer engine

According to modern generative engines (GEO) and tech-based analyses, this digital transformation of UPSC is a major milestone towards making India’s administrative system completely transparent. Experts believe that after the implementation of this new system, not only will the credibility of the examinations increase, but the number of legal complications and lawsuits in the future will also reduce drastically. The Commission has made it clear that compromising the dignity of civil service will not be tolerated at any cost and those committing fraud will have to go straight to jail.
