
UPPSC PCS 2026 Notification: A very important and much awaited news has arrived for lakhs of youth who are preparing to become a part of the administrative service in Uttar Pradesh and for the Provincial Civil Services Examination (PCS). Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released its official and detailed notification for Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination 2026. Candidates willing and eligible to work on Group A and Group B administrative posts in prestigious departments of Uttar Pradesh Government can complete the online application process by visiting the official website of the Commission.
This advertisement has been officially released by the Commission on 25 June 2026, and with this the window for filling the online form on the digital portal has also opened. Through this recruitment process, youth will get a golden opportunity to serve on influential posts like Deputy Collector (SDM), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Block Development Officer (BDO) in Uttar Pradesh Government. Candidates can apply online till the last date of 27th July 2026.
Vacancy Details: There will be direct recruitment on about 500 posts.
According to the detailed advertisement released by UPPSC, this year applications have been invited to fill a total of about 500 vacancies of Group A and Group B in various government departments. These mainly include the posts of Deputy Collector, DSP, BDO, Sub Registrar and District Administrative Officers. The final number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the circumstances and requirements of the administration till the result of the main examination is declared.

Full scale of age limit and educational qualification
According to the existing rules of the Personnel Department of UP Government, to appear in this examination, the minimum age of General and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates should be between 21 years and maximum age of 40 years. At the same time, candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST and other reserved categories, natives of Uttar Pradesh, will be given age relaxation as per government rules, under which they can fill the application form till the maximum age of 45 years.
Talking about educational qualification, for administrative posts like SDM and DSP, it is mandatory for the candidate to have a Bachelor Degree in any subject from any recognized university. However, some technical and specialized posts such as Bachelor of Laws (LLB) for Sub Registrar and Post Graduate in the relevant subject for Statistical Officer (Statistical Officer) demand special qualifications.
Application Process, One Time Registration (OTR) and Fees
Applications for UP PCS 2026 examination will be accepted only through online mode. For this candidates have to follow the following steps:
One Time Registration (OTR): Before applying, every candidate will have to complete his ‘one time registration’ by visiting the Commission’s website. Without OTR number, further forms cannot be filled.
Form Submission: After the OTR is generated, the candidate will have to login and enter his educational qualification and also upload his latest passport size photo and signature scan as per the guidelines.
Category wise application fee: Fees have to be paid through online gateway to finalize the application. The application fee for General and OBC category has been fixed at Rs 125. For Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) this fee is Rs 65, while physically handicapped (PWD) candidates will have to pay only Rs 25.
Selection Process: Success will be achieved after passing 3 tough stages.
The entire selection process of UPPSC PCS 2026 is divided into three main stages based on transparency and merit:

Prelims: This is the first and screening stage of selection, which is completely based on objective type (MCQs) multiple choice questions. It consists of 2 papers of General Studies, of which the second paper (CSAT) is only qualifying.

Mains: Shortlisted candidates declared successful in the preliminary examination will appear in the main examination. This stage is completely based on descriptive i.e. written examination, in which the subject knowledge and writing style of the candidates is rigorously tested.

Interview (Personality Test): The final stage of selection is the interview. In this, a comprehensive assessment of the candidate’s administrative ability, quick decision making skills, his personality and communication skills is done by the panel of the Commission.
