
On the arrival of Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji in Lucknow, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya warmly welcomed and congratulated him. On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister welcomed the Union Minister by presenting him a bouquet and stressed the need for better coordination between the Central and State Governments for effective implementation of various schemes and programs related to agriculture, rural development and farmers’ welfare in the state. Shri Maurya said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many historic and public welfare schemes are being run by the Central Government to increase the income of farmers, modernize the agriculture sector and strengthen the rural economy. The Uttar Pradesh government is continuously working to implement these schemes with full commitment and transparency. He said that agriculture and rural development are important bases for the progress of the country and the state. One of the top priorities of the government is to extend the comprehensive benefits of the schemes run by the Central and State Governments to the last person to make farmers, rural youth, women and self-help groups self-reliant. On this occasion, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan appreciated the work being done in the field of agriculture, rural development, rural infrastructure, empowerment of self-help groups and rural livelihood promotion in Uttar Pradesh. He said that the Central Government is working with full commitment to protect the interests of farmers and all-round development of rural areas and every possible support will be provided to the development efforts of Uttar Pradesh. During their visit to Lucknow, important issues like agricultural development, expansion of rural infrastructure, natural farming, water conservation, farmer welfare programs and rural employment generation were also discussed between the two leaders. During this, senior officials of the state and central government and public representatives were also present. Describing the visit of the Union Minister to the state as important for the agriculture and rural development sector of Uttar Pradesh, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the Central and State Government will further improve the living standards of farmers and rural people and will establish new dimensions of development in the state.
