PM Modi degree controversy
Gujarat High Court refused to quash the summons issued by the lower court against Sanjay Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Sanjay Singh and Kejriwal gave controversial statements on Gujarat University regarding the degree of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Due to which the university has filed a defamation case against him. After this, summons is being sent to Sanjay Singh by the lower court.
There is nothing defamatory in the statement: Lawyer
Advocate Rebecca John, who appeared in the court on behalf of Sanjay Singh, said, 'There is nothing defamatory in what Sanjay Singh said about the university. It is clear from the video that this statement is not a case of defamation of the university. It is not said that Gujarat University has created fake degrees. On this the court said, 'These arguments can be given when the case is heard in the trial court.' Saying this the court rejected the application.
