Very shocking and hair-raising revelations have been made in the investigation of the SIT formed in the horrific fire incident in Aliganj area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. According to the report of senior journalist Vishal Raghuvanshi, this multi-storey building was built by ignoring the rules. Investigation has revealed that there was no system of ventilation inside the building.
AC outers and other high-voltage electrical equipment were crammed inside the entire building in a very unsafe and careless manner. The manager, director and their close relatives of the establishment together played with the lives of innocent children and the people visiting there and did not make any proper arrangements for fire safety.
Exits missing and doors locked; The accused committed deliberate negligence
It has also been made clear in the detailed report of the SIT that in case of any emergency, there was no other way out or safe entry in the entire building. There was only one main narrow path for entry and exit inside the building. The biggest problem was the absence of any other exit or emergency exit.
Along with this, electrical wiring and equipment were installed in the entire building in an irregular manner without any standard. The report said that the accused were well aware that if any short circuit or accidental situation ever occurred, the lives of the people inside could be lost. Despite this, in the pursuit of earning big money, the accused deliberately ignored this grave danger and committed such gross negligence.
Closed doors took 15 lives, 18 LDA engineers were blamed
The saddest thing about this tragic accident was that after the fire, the main door of the building was locked. Due to this locked door, 15 people and students trapped inside could not come out in time and they died a painful death due to suffocation and burns.
Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has submitted a big report to the SIT in this entire matter. According to LDA, along with the then prescribed authority, 5 zonal officers and 18 junior and assistant engineers have been found directly guilty in the case of the illegal commercial building in Aliganj where this accident took place. LDA VC has sent its final report to the government recommending strict departmental and legal action against all these culprits.
LDA’s bulldozer will run on illegal building in 15 days
After this very sensitive and painful accident in Aliganj, now Lucknow Development Authority is taking a very strict stance. The building in which the coaching center and pet clinic was running has been declared a completely illegal construction.
LDA has issued a show cause notice to the building owners in this regard. The authority has warned in blunt words that if no satisfactory and valid response is received from the building owners within the next 15 days, then this entire illegal building will be razed to the ground by bulldozing. In the preliminary investigation, LDA has fixed the accountability of its officers and engineers on the charges of patronizing illegal construction and not monitoring the area properly.
Strict action of the court: All four accused including the landlord were sent to jail
After this fire incident, the police administration is also in full action mode. According to the information received, the court has rejected the bail pleas of the four main accused arrested in the Aliganj fire incident and sent them to jail.
The court has sent the main owner of the building, Virendra Prasad Shukla, Ramakrishna Upadhyay, who runs ‘Aliganj Pet Shop and Clinic’ inside the building, and Tushak Krishna Jaiswal and Suresh Kumar Sahu, who run a coaching center named ‘Hexa 3D Animation’ and ‘Head Hoopers Institute’ in the same building, to jail for 14 days. After this accident, the demand for fire audit of illegal coaching centers and commercial buildings running in other areas of Lucknow has intensified.
