A very big and relief news is coming for lakhs of candidates who have appeared in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 examination for admission in medical colleges across the country. After the paper leak controversies, the NEET UG examination, which was conducted again under tight security on June 21 at thousands of centers in the country and abroad, has been successfully completed. Right after this examination, the newly appointed Director General of National Testing Agency (NTA) Abhishek Singh himself came forward and clarified the situation regarding the date of release of the result and the further counseling process.

It was challenging to conduct the examination in a very short time, now it is the turn of evaluation.

NTA Director General Abhishek Singh told the media that after the cancellation of the old examination, it was a very challenging task to conduct such a big national level examination again for more than 20 lakh students in a record time of just 37 days. He thanked all the states and administrative departments of the country including Prayagraj, Delhi, Mumbai and Patna of Uttar Pradesh, with the help of which the entire examination was conducted flawlessly and in a completely safe environment. The DG clarified that now the entire focus of the agency has been transferred towards the evaluation process.

Answering the biggest question of students and parents i.e. ‘When will the result come?’, Director General Abhishek Singh said that the agency has shortened the examination cycle considerably this time. He assured that the result of NEET UG 2026 will be declared much faster than expected and very soon (As soon as possible). As per indications from the authorities, the evaluation process is being completed on a war footing so that there is no delay in the counseling process of medical colleges and the precious academic session of promising medical students of the country is saved from getting wasted.

Avoid rumors on social media, NTA issues strict warning

Meanwhile, the NTA chief has also taken a strong stand on the news going on about paper leak or fake answer keys on social media platforms like Internet and Telegram. He has appealed to the students not to trust any misinformation or unofficial sources. NTA has clarified that the provisional answer key will be released by the end of June, on which students will get time to lodge objections. Soon after this, the official announcement of the final answer key and result will be made on the main website of NTA, neet.nta.nic.in.
