‘Cocktail 2’ a blast at the box office, earned more than ₹75 crore in 3 days, but budget became a big challenge

Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited film ‘Cocktail 2’ is getting tremendous response from the audience. This is the reason why within just 3 days of its release, the worldwide collection of the film has crossed the figure of Rs 75 crore. On Sunday, the film collected a net collection of Rs 17.75 crore from around 10,462 shows across the country. The film had earned Rs 16.25 crore on Saturday, compared to which a huge jump of 9.2% was seen in the business on Sunday.

After the initial three days of travel, the total net collection of ‘Cocktail 2’ in India has now reached Rs 47.50 crore, while the domestic gross collection has reached Rs 57 crore. The film is also getting decent response in overseas markets, where the film has so far done a gross business of Rs 19.25 crore. Including all these figures, the total worldwide gross collection of ‘Cocktail 2’ till now has crossed Rs 76.25 crore, which has given a big relief to the makers on the weekend.

Huge budget of ₹150 crore, necessary to pass Monday test

Even though the collection of the film is continuously increasing, the path ahead is not looking so easy. The total budget of ‘Cocktail 2’ is said to be around Rs 150 crore. Considering the huge cost, the initial earnings of the film are not being considered very strong but are being considered to be a mixed response. The film got the benefit of weekend holiday, but the real test will now be on working days (Monday to Thursday). It will be very important for the film to pass the Monday test to recover its costs and get the hit tag.
