There has been an earthquake once again in the politics of Maharashtra. Political tension between Shiv Sena (UBT) and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde faction has reached its peak. Amidst the growing speculations about 6 out of 9 Lok Sabha MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray camp joining the Shinde faction and the much talked about ‘Operation Tiger’, a very bitter war of words has broken out between the two sides regarding ‘lion and dog’. Shiv Sena (UBT) firebrand leader and MP Sanjay Raut has raised the temperature of Maharashtra politics by sharing a very aggressive post on social media while retaliating on a controversial statement of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Sanjay Raut’s counterattack: ‘Some people are dogs but not loyal’
In fact, this whole new controversy heated up when Sanjay Raut posted a scathing infographic on the social media platform ‘X’ (earlier Twitter). It was clearly written in this infographic – “Some people are dogs but are not loyal.” Raut captioned this post as ‘Jai Maharashtra!’ Shared with the caption. This direct attack of Raut was on the statement of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in which he had taunted the Uddhav Thackeray camp by calling himself a lion and his opponents as dogs.
What did Chief Minister Eknath Shinde say? Know that controversial statement
Earlier, while addressing a public meeting, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had directly targeted the Uddhav Thackeray faction. Describing his faction as the real and only heir of Balasaheb Thackeray’s political legacy, Shinde had said that some dogs keep barking continuously, they were barking yesterday also and will continue to bark in future also. Let me tell you one thing that dogs always bark in packs, but the lion always comes alone. When the lion hunts or roars, the dogs just keep barking. This is the real Shiv Sena which stands strongly in Maharashtra today.
6 MPs missing from Uddhav group’s meeting, crisis deepens again
Behind this very low level rhetoric between the two groups, it is believed that a major reshuffle is taking place in the parliamentary politics of Maharashtra. A very important parliamentary party meeting of Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena (UBT) was called in New Delhi. Out of total 9 Lok Sabha MPs of the party, 6 MPs did not attend this meeting. This mass absence of MPs has intensified rumors in political circles from Maharashtra to Delhi that all these 6 MPs are going to join the official Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde very soon.
Sanjay Raut in action: Process to disqualify rebel MPs started
In view of the danger of this new split looming within Shiv Sena (UBT), the party leadership has immediately come on alert mode. While talking to the media, Sanjay Raut made it clear that the party has started strict disciplinary action against all the six MPs who were missing from the meeting and show cause notices have been issued to them. Raut stressed that we will adopt every legal means to get these MPs disqualified. If the Speaker of the Lok Sabha acts impartially as per the rules, the Constitution and the instructions of the Supreme Court of the country, then it is absolutely certain that all of them will be disqualified.
Claim of ‘Operation Tiger’: Will the history of the year 2022 be repeated again?
This new crisis in Maharashtra politics is being named ‘Operation Tiger’. Shinde faction leader and Shiv Sena MLC Chandrakant Raghuvanshi made a big claim and said that these six MPs of the Uddhav camp have expressed their full faith in the working style and leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and they are fully ready to join the official Shiv Sena at any time. If this claim proves to be true, then Uddhav Thackeray will have to face another major division after exactly four years. Earlier in the year 2022, due to the historic rebellion led by Eknath Shinde, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government had fallen and later the Election Commission had handed over the real election symbol of Shiv Sena and bow and arrow to the Shinde faction.
