‘Cocktail 2’ makes a big splash at the box office: Over a lakh tickets sold in advance booking ‘Cocktail 2’ makes a big splash at the box office: Over a lakh tickets sold in advance booking

Bollywood’s talented actor Shahid Kapoor, national crush Rashmika Mandanna and beautiful Kriti Sanon starrer film ‘Cocktail 2’ is all set to create a stir in the theatres. The film’s spectacular trailer and chartbuster songs have created a tremendous hype and buzz among the audience even before its release. These days the star cast of the film is busy promoting it by visiting different parts of the country. Let us tell you that advance booking of ‘Cocktail 2’ was started on June 14. Although the pace of ticket sales was a bit slow in the initial days, as the weekend approached, there was an unexpected and spectacular surge in the pre-sales figures.

Film critics and trade analysts believe that this film will easily be successful in touching the double digit figure on its opening day.

Shahid-Rashmika’s magic seen at the ticket window: Sacknilk figures surprised

According to the latest report of Sacnilk, a famous website that keeps an eye on the box office business, till now advance booking of more than 1 lakh 20 thousand tickets has been done all over India for the first day show of ‘Cocktail 2’. If we talk about its revenue collection, then without block seats the gross collection of the film has reached Rs 4.12 crore. At the same time, if the figures of block seats are also included in it, then this advance booking collection has already crossed the very strong figure of Rs 7.18 crore (gross).

Looking at this tremendous pre-sales trend, trade experts predict that ‘Cocktail 2’ is going to have a very spectacular and strong opening at the box office. On the first day of release, the film can earn around Rs 8 to 10 crore nett at the domestic box office. However, the exact lifetime collection of the film will also largely depend on the audience response during ‘on-the-spot’ (current bookings) at the ticket windows of theatres.

You will get bumper benefit from solo release: The field is open till ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ comes.

The biggest relief and convenience for the makers of ‘Cocktail 2’ is that no other big Bollywood or Pan-India film is being released at the box office this week. Since there is no clash with any big film, Shahid Kapoor’s film has a whole week to perform freely in theaters and earn huge money. The next biggest multi-starrer film at the box office, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is going to be released on 26th June.

Even the films ‘Main Vashpar Aaunga’ and ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’, which came to grace the theaters last week, have completely failed to woo the audience at the box office and are on the verge of flopping.

‘Haunted 3D’ can become a fork in the road, first glimpse of Shraddha-Rajkumar’s film will also be seen

Even though the field is largely clear, the road to ‘Cocktail 2’ is not going to be entirely easy. The horror film ‘Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past’, which is entering its second weekend, can give a tough competition to Shahid Kapoor’s movie in theaters due to the good word of mouth it is getting from the audience. At present, this film is being considered as the biggest thorn in its path.

Apart from this, another big surprise for the audience is that during the screening of ‘Cocktail 2’, the first glimpse (Teaser/Glimpse) of the much awaited upcoming films of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao will also be shown in theaters on the big screen, which will prove to be a double blast for the audience.

This new story is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 blockbuster ‘Cocktail’.

It is noteworthy that ‘Cocktail 2’ is a ‘Spiritual Sequel’ of director Homi Adajania’s cult classic film ‘Cocktail’ released in 2012. In its first part, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty won the hearts of the youth with their excellent performances, and that film proved to be a superhit at the box office. Now almost 14 years later, with a completely new star cast and a modern love-triangle story, the makers are all set to take the audience on the same old journey again, which the fans are very excited about.
