A very big and positive news is coming out from the global platform of G-7 Summit held in Evian, France regarding the relations between India and America. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump have given clear instructions to the top officials and negotiators of their respective countries to finalize the long pending ‘India-US Trade Deal’ between the two countries as soon as possible without any delay. Both the great leaders have emphasized on a balanced, mutually beneficial and commercially game-changing agreement that can give a new impetus to the economies of both the countries. The Ministry of External Affairs has officially confirmed this diplomatic progress.

The main objective of this face-to-face meeting between the two global leaders after a long gap of about 16 months is to completely end the tension that has arisen between the two countries over trade issues in recent times and to take bilateral relations to a new height.

Intensive discussion on bilateral relations took place in G-7 summit, global strategic partnership will be strengthened.

In this bilateral meeting held on Wednesday on the sidelines of the G-7 summit, PM Modi and President Trump resolved to further strengthen the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership. The two countries have reiterated their commitment to enhance cooperation in all key sectors including defence, technology, energy and trade. To get this deal off the ground, US Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer is visiting India next week, where he will hold marathon one-on-one talks with officials of the Indian Commerce Ministry on the final draft of the proposed trade agreement.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri shared inside details of the meeting during a special media briefing held in Paris. He said that removing the trade deadlock was the most prominent discussion between the two heads of state and both have assigned the task to their negotiators to finalize this mega deal within the time limit.

PM Modi expressed deep condolences on the demise of Padmashree Robert AF Thurman, called him a lifelong friend of India.

Meanwhile, on the diplomatic front, India has taken another big global step and wholeheartedly welcomed the historic peace agreement between America and Iran. India has clarified that it is in constant touch with its partner countries to maintain peace, security and stability in West Asia (Middle East) and is fully prepared for any positive contribution in the region.

Speaking to international media, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that India has always supported only the path of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve global conflicts and disputes. India has full hope that this agreement between America and Iran will lead to long-term peace and economic prosperity in the Gulf countries and West Asia.
