West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari has made an important announcement, giving a big relief to the people of the state. Keeping in mind the record breaking crowd and huge demand of the people in the government ‘public welfare camps’ running across Bengal, the government has extended the deadline of these camps by one day. Earlier these special camps were to start from June 15 and end on June 17, but now after the new order of the Chief Minister, people will be able to go to these camps till June 18 and avail direct benefits of various government schemes. The Chief Minister himself made this official announcement while addressing a huge public welfare camp organized at Phalta in South 24 Parganas district.
The Chief Minister clearly said that the enthusiasm and response of the general public towards these camps is so tremendous that no eligible person is deprived of the application, that is why the administration has taken this quick decision.
Getting direct benefits of all central and state schemes under one roof
The main objective of these special ‘Public Welfare Camps’ being organized on a war footing across the state is to simplify the government processes and take them directly to the doorsteps of the common people. Through these camps, any citizen of Bengal can apply on the spot for all the welfare and social security schemes of the Central Government and State Government for which he is eligible. Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari assured the public that this time the system has been made so transparent and strong that there is no scope left for middlemen or corruption at any level. The government’s top priority is to deliver benefits to the eligible needy directly and without any hindrance.
Big update on Annapurna Bhandar Yojana: Verification of applications of 1.05 crore women completed
Addressing the women of the state from the stage of the camp, the Chief Minister shared very good news data about ‘Annapurna Bhandar Yojana’, the most ambitious scheme of the new BJP government of Bengal. He said that under this scheme which provides cash financial assistance of $3,000 per month to women, verification work of more than $1.05 crore applications has been successfully completed so far. This scheme was started last month itself with the aim of making the women of the state financially self-reliant and empowered, which is now being implemented rapidly at the grassroots level.
Amount will be transferred to bank accounts from July 1, money will reach beneficiaries directly
Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari also completely removed the curtain on those speculations and dates for which crores of women were waiting. He clearly announced that the amount of the scheme will be transferred online through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from July 1 to the bank accounts of all the women applicants whose forms have been completed. The entire focus of the government is to ensure that this money reaches directly to the pockets of the beneficiaries without any delay or administrative discrepancy so that they can fulfill their daily needs with self-respect without being dependent on anyone. After the new deadline of June 18, now the remaining eligible people are also registering themselves in these camps.
