The Meteorological Department has issued a big update for the people facing the scorching heat and humidity in Jharkhand. The weather pattern is going to change suddenly in many parts of the state, due to which the temperature is expected to drop. Ranchi Center of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ for 9 districts of the state regarding sudden thunderstorm, strong winds and lightning. People living in these areas of north-eastern and central Jharkhand have been advised to be especially alert and stay in safe places during bad weather.

Maximum impact of storm will be seen in these districts including Dumka and Deoghar

According to meteorologists, the nine districts where the most severe form of weather can be seen today include Dumka, Deoghar, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur and Sahibganj of Santal Pargana. Along with this, the weather will also change rapidly in the surrounding central parts i.e. Dhanbad, Bokaro and Giridih districts. In these areas, there can be strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms, whose speed is expected to be 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Due to this sudden storm, there is a possibility of trees falling and electric poles getting damaged.

Heavy fear of lightning, Meteorological Department issues strict guidelines

The incidents of lightning increase significantly before and during the onset of monsoon in Jharkhand. In view of this, IMD has issued guidelines for the citizens of Dumka, Deoghar and other identified districts. The Meteorological Department has clearly said that when dark clouds appear in the sky and lightning starts, then do not take shelter under trees or in open fields even by mistake. Farmer brothers have been advised to avoid going to the fields during this period and also tie their cattle at safe places. Staying under a strong concrete roof is the safest solution in this weather.

There will be a huge drop in temperature, there will be a big relief from the humid heat.

Due to this monsoon activity and thunderstorms, the people of Jharkhand, who have been facing record breaking heat for the last several days, are expected to get great relief. Due to cold winds and showers, the maximum temperature may drop by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. However, the humid winds blowing before the rain will cause some trouble, but by evening the weather will become pleasant. According to Ranchi Meteorological Centre, this seasonal change may remain intermittently active in different parts of the state for the next 24 to 48 hours.
