NEET Paper Leak Controversy: ‘Students are necessary or failed ministers?’ CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke asked questions to PM Modi in Amritsar, announced to march to Delhi on June 20

The anger of the youth and students of the country is continuously increasing regarding the alleged rigging in the Education Ministry and examinations. A massive protest was organized in Amritsar, Punjab on Saturday as part of a nationwide campaign run by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. A huge crowd of students, youth and protesters gathered at Amritsar’s famous ‘Golden Gate’ (the main entrance to the city). Earlier, strong protests have been seen regarding this issue in big cities like Delhi, Pune and Lucknow.

‘Will camp in Delhi on June 20, students should not be afraid of going to jail’

Addressing the huge crowd and public meeting gathered in Amritsar, Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Deepke gave a simple ultimatum to the Central Government. He announced that the upcoming 20 June 2026 Students and youth from across the country will head towards Delhi. He said, “We will all go to Delhi on June 20 and will camp there until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post.”

Abhijeet Deepke encouraged the protesting students and said that they should not be afraid of legal action or going to jail. Giving his example, he said that when he himself returned to India from America, he too thought that the government would put him behind bars. But their main objective is to provide justice to the victims of NEET and CBSE examinations and to fix the accountability of the government in the continuously happening paper leak cases.

‘No movement is successful without Punjab, those asking questions are called Pakistanis’

The CJP founder described the role of Punjab as paramount in the democratic movements of the country. Recalling the historic farmers’ movement against the three agricultural laws, he said, “Without the support of Punjab, no major mass movement in India can ever be successful. That farmers’ movement also started from the soil of Punjab. I myself had gone to the Singhu border to stand with the protesters.”

Taking aim at the central government, he alleged that in the present system, anyone who questions the policies or shortcomings of the government is immediately branded as a ‘Pakistani’ or a traitor. Deepke said that the Education Minister should immediately step down, taking full responsibility for the alleged serious irregularities in the examinations. Taking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “The Prime Minister now has to make a clear choice—either he stands with crores of students of the country and their future, or with an incompetent and unsuccessful minister. He has to take this decision as soon as possible.”

Accuses the government of insensitivity; Regional issues raised in the demonstration

Abhijeet Deepke described the present government as completely insensitive and indifferent towards the youth. He said that despite being given a long ultimatum, the Education Minister remains on his post. The government is taking the power of the youth and their voice very lightly, which is why he returned to India from America last Saturday only to raise the voice of the students. Student leader Gurvinder Singh, who participated in the protest, also claimed that these demands of the youth are getting full support from every section of the society.

Sikh youth raised local issues: During this demonstration held in Amritsar, many local Sikh youth and farmer organizations also put forward some other serious problems of Punjab on the stage. These mainly included the issues of old incidents of sacrilege, the issue of release of Sikh prisoners who had completed their sentence, known as ‘Bandi Singh’, and the plight of farmers facing agricultural crisis. However, some people present there also described the strategy of the protesters as a bit directionless, because there was a lack of clarity among the protesters regarding the concrete roadmap ahead in case the government did not bow down or agree.

What is ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ and how did it start?

Let us tell you that ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) was started last month as a unique and sarcastic online movement. The movement was started in response to an alleged comment by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant, in which he allegedly compared some unemployed youth to “cockroaches”. This comment had created huge controversy and outrage on social media. However, later, seeing the controversy increasing, the CJI issued his clarification on this and clarified that a section of the media had completely misrepresented and distorted the statement given by him in the court room.
