
Taking an important decision towards the economic and social empowerment of women farmers, Deputy Chief Minister and Rural Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya has given financial approval of funds for the financial year 2026-27 under the Women Farmers Empowerment Project (MKSP). Shri Maurya said that under the financial year 2026-27, the Government of India has given financial approval for the expenditure of a total amount of ₹ 495.833 lakh (approximately ₹ 4.96 crore), including the central contribution of ₹ 297.50 lakh and the state share of ₹ 198.333 lakh, for the Women Farmers Empowerment Project. The Deputy Chief Minister said that through this amount, effective work will be done in various districts of the state to increase the productivity of Scheduled Caste women farmers by connecting them with modern agricultural techniques, enhancing their income and making them self-reliant. The implementation of the project will strengthen the economic status of women in rural areas and will also give new impetus to social empowerment. He instructed the concerned officials that the sanctioned funds should be used with transparency as per the prescribed standards and government mandates and it should be ensured that the benefits of the project reach the eligible women in a timely manner. He said that the state government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is taking forward the resolution of women empowerment and rural development with full commitment.
