5.60 crore cash, 106 kg gold and silver… Police raided goldsmith's house, found unaccounted property

Under the Election Code of Conduct regarding the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Election Commission and police teams are keeping an eye on the entire country. Meanwhile, the police conducted a major raid in Karnataka, in which the police found huge amount of property. Police recovered Rs 5 crore in cash and 106 kg jewelery from here.

In an election raid in Karnataka, police have seized Rs 5.60 crore in cash, 3 kg gold, 103 kg silver jewelery and 68 silver bars from the house of a jewelery shop owner. This raid was conducted in Bellary city of Karnataka. Police have recovered a total of Rs 7.60 crore. The value of the jewelery is said to be more than Rs 2 crore.

Police raided goldsmith's house

Police officials say that a huge amount of cash and jewelery has been recovered from the house of jewelery shop owner Naresh. Police said that he has been taken into custody and is being interrogated. Police sources said that on the basis of intelligence, police had received information that a huge amount of cash and jewelery was kept in the house of a jeweler in Brucepet police station area.

Police suspect hawala connection in the case and Karnataka Police have registered a case under section 98 of the Act. Police said investigation into the case has been initiated and the accused will be handed over to the Income Tax Department for further questioning.
