There is a very good news for the people of Delhi-NCR and the passengers who are eagerly waiting for the Noida International Airport to be built in Jewar. A wonderful project has been approved to speed up access to the airport and make the journey completely jam-free. Now there are preparations to build a huge 31.2 km long and ‘8-lane’ elevated expressway from DND flyover directly to Agra Expressway.
This magnificent project with a huge budget of around Rs 5,000 crore has been given the green signal by the Uttar Pradesh government. The responsibility of getting this entire project off the ground has been entrusted to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). An important online meeting held at the government level was attended by top officials of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Authority (YEIDA) along with NHAI, in which the final approval was given to the outline of this route.
At a glance: Complete profile of the elevated expressway
You can easily understand the main things related to this new high-speed corridor from the table given below:
| Main points of the project | Detailed information (Project Details) |
| project name | DND-Agra Expressway Elevated Corridor |
| total length | 31.2 kilometers |
| number of lanes | 8-lane (high-speed expressway) |
| estimated cost | approximately ₹5,000 crore |
| project route | From DND Toll Plaza (Noida Sector-94) to Gharbara Village (Near GBU), Greater Noida. |
| developer agency | National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) |
Where will this new route start and where will it go?
This proposed elevated expressway will start from near the toll plaza of DND Flyway connecting Delhi and Noida. Starting from here, it will pass over Sector-94 of Noida and Yamuna Embankment Road (Yamuna Pushta Road) and reach Gharbara village near Gautam Buddha University (GBU) in Greater Noida, where it will directly connect to the Agra Expressway.
With the construction of this corridor, the distance between Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida will not only be reduced significantly, but the drivers will also be able to travel directly to Jewar Airport without any single red light or local traffic. For this, NHAI’s consultant firm will soon prepare a detailed feasibility report (DFR) and decide the date for starting the work.
Lifeline will be created for industries and logistics sector
Noida International Airport being built in Jewar is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the country. The government is trying to strengthen all the road links related to the airport before it becomes fully operational. This elevated route will not only save time for air passengers but will also prove to be a big game-changer for the air cargo, factories and logistics sector. Through this, Noida’s direct connectivity with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Delhi-Saharanpur Expressway and Delhi-Meerut Expressway will become very strong, which will reduce the cost of freight transportation and will give a new boom to industrial investment in NCR.
