Sidhi, 7 April (Hindustan Reporter) Taking advantage of the facility provided by the Election Commission of India, 196 elderly and disabled voters of the district voted for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 through postal ballot while staying at their homes for Parliamentary Constituency 11-Sidhi. The entire process was conducted in a transparent manner under the direction of Collector and District Election Officer Swarochish Somvanshi. Giving the above information on Sunday, Public Relations Officer Mukesh Mishra said that there were 42 elderly and 02 disabled voters in assembly constituency 76-Churhat, 33 elderly voters in 77-Sidhi, 73 elderly and 04 disabled voters in 78-Sihawal and 19 in 82-Dhauni. Elderly and 23 disabled voters voted through postal ballot at home. For this, 04 routes were made in Churhat, 03 in Sidhi, 05 in Sihawal and 08 in Dhauni.
It is noteworthy that the facility to cast vote from home is available only to those voters who are above 85 years of age or who are more than 40 percent disabled and cannot go to the booth to cast their vote.
