Gunpowder again erupts in the Middle East: Once again very disturbing news of devastation and fear is coming out from West Asia (Middle East). On Tuesday night, Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley echoed with the blasts of Israeli missiles. According to local eyewitnesses, within just a few hours, more than 180 rapid air strikes were carried out by Israel. Such a terrible orange cloud of fire and smoke rose into the sky that it shook the area several kilometers away. The echo of the blasts was so strong that there was chaos in the residential areas overnight and people were forced to run towards safe places with their innocent children in their arms.
More than 30 deaths including innocent children and women, search for life in the debris
So far, more than 30 innocent people have lost their lives in this fierce shelling. Local health officials have confirmed that the dead also include 4 innocent children and 3 women. Apart from this, more than 40 people are seriously injured, who have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
An air strike in Mashghara village in eastern Lebanon destroyed an entire laughing family, where bodies of 12 people of the same family were taken out from the debris. Relief and rescue teams are still trying to clear the debris and search for buried people, while many distraught families are making rounds of hospitals to gather information about their missing loved ones.
Netanyahu’s tough stance: ‘Military operations will intensify’
Amidst this destructive action on the ground, a big and strong statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has come out. He has made it clear that instead of stopping the ongoing military operation in Lebanon, it is being made more aggressive. Netanyahu said:
“Ensuring the safety of our citizens living in the border areas of northern Israel is our first priority. For this, the safety belt on the Lebanon border is being further strengthened so that the people living there can be protected forever from Hezbollah’s attacks. Our forces have entered the field on a large scale and are strengthening their hold on strategic areas.”
Meanwhile, there is also doubt whether any possible ceasefire initiative going on behind the scenes with Iran will be able to stop this bloody conflict between Israel and Hezbollah or not.
Fierce clashes near Litani River, 100 Hezbollah hideouts destroyed
The area around the Litani River in Lebanon has currently become the main battlefield, where a direct and one-on-one war is going on between Israeli soldiers and Hezbollah fighters. The Israeli Army (IDF) claims that they have completely destroyed more than 100 Hezbollah intelligence bases in southern Lebanon and the eastern Beqaa Valley in an overnight operation. According to the military, these bases were being used to store weapons, run command centers and monitor rocket attacks on northern Israel.
On the other hand, Hezbollah has also claimed the counterattack, saying that its fighters are stopping the Israeli army from advancing on the border. The organization has warned in clear words that their struggle will not stop until Israel stops its daily air strikes and completely withdraws its forces from Lebanese soil.
Important meeting in Washington after three days, will there be a path to peace?
This ammunition has been rained in the Middle East at a time when exactly three days later a very important direct conversation is proposed between the high-level military delegations of Lebanon and Israel in Washington, USA. Political analysts believe that this meeting may be the last hope to reduce the increasing violent tension between the two countries. However, looking at the ongoing bloodshed on the ground and Netanyahu’s tough stance, it is too early to say whether this Washington table will be able to bring any concrete message of peace or not.
