What is the new Amendment Order 2026?
The Central Government has notified the ‘Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Amendment Order 2026’ on 25 May 2026. The main objective of this new amendment is to provide more flexibility and peace of mind to the consumers taking domestic PNG connections, so that people can shift to safe and modern PNG gas without any fear.
Under the revised rules, consumers will get these 2 big options
As per the new provisions, domestic consumers who have an LPG connection and are also taking a new PNG connection will now have the following options:
1.Surrender rule within 30 days:Option 1.
After the consumer gets PNG supply started in his house or gets the connection. within 30 days You can voluntarily apply to remove or surrender your old LPG connection.
2. ‘Transfer Vouchers’ for the future:Option 2.
If the consumer wishes, he can contact his gas company to ‘Transfer Voucher’ Can achieve. This voucher will be a guarantee that in future, if the consumer shifts to an area or city where PNG pipeline infrastructure is not available, then with the help of this voucher his old LPG connection will be restored immediately and without any hassle.
