There has been panic in the security department after a huge quantity of explosives (gelatin sticks) were recovered near the ‘Art of Living Centre’ located on the outskirts of the city. Taking this gross negligence very seriously, the administration has taken immediate action and suspended six policemen including a Sub Inspector (SI) with immediate effect.

Explosive found just 3 kilometers away from PM Modi’s meeting venue

According to official information, Bengaluru South District Superintendent of Police (SP) R Srinivas Gowda has issued an order to suspend a sub-inspector, an assistant sub-inspector and four constables on charges of negligence. It is being told that during the special checking and cleaning campaign going on on the route for the arrival of the Prime Minister, an alert constable noticed these suspicious rods lying near the footpath. When looked closer, there were two gelatin sticks connected to the circuit and timer.

The Prime Minister’s convoy was about to pass near Kagalipura Ashram.

According to the DCP of Bengaluru Central Range, this explosive material was recovered near an ashram near Kagalipura, just 3 kilometers from the main event venue and public meeting area of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi’s convoy was going to pass through this fixed route. As soon as the news of finding explosives spread, the security agencies evacuated the entire area without wasting time. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDDS) was immediately called to the spot, the explosive was seized and the entire route was thoroughly searched again.

Policemen will remain suspended till investigation is completed, questions raised on security

Police officials have clarified that until the detailed investigation of this very sensitive case is completed, these six policemen will remain suspended. Security agencies are now strictly investigating where the gelatin sticks equipped with timers and circuits came from on the Prime Minister’s route despite it being a high-sensitive zone and who is behind it.
