Jaunpur: Youth climbs mobile tower in protest over land measurement; dies after falling following a 7-hour high-voltage drama. Jaunpur: Angered by the land measurement, a young man climbed the mobile tower, fell to death after 7 hours of high-voltage drama.

A very painful and sensational case has come to light from Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, in Uttarijpur village of Baksha police station area, being dissatisfied with the land measurement, a 30-year-old youth climbed the mobile tower. Despite 7 hours of efforts by the police and administrative officials, the young man did not come down and ultimately died after falling from the tower. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the entire area and the angry villagers demonstrated fiercely on the spot.

10 year old land dispute became the reason for the accident

This entire matter is related to the family of Rajaram Yadav, resident of Uttarijpur village.

  • There was dispute for 10 years: Rajaram Yadav is having a land dispute with his neighbors Mahavir Yadav, Arjun Yadav etc. for the last 10 years.

  • Dissatisfaction with Metering: On the application of Rajaram, the land was measured in 2016 and Pathargaddi (demarcation) was done in 2019. But Rajaram was not satisfied with this measurement.

  • Opposition to the construction of the road: Meanwhile, the government road leading to neighboring Mahavir’s house was approved and its construction started. Rajaram was continuously visiting government offices to stop the construction of the road, saying that this measurement was faulty, but he alleged that the officials were not listening to him.

High-voltage drama ran from 7 am to 2 pm

Rajaram’s elder son at around 7 am on Thursday Shriprakash Yadav (30 years) Angered by the officials’ negligence, he climbed a tall mobile tower located in the village itself.

Senior officials reached the spot: As soon as the news of the youth climbing the tower was received, police station in-charge Virendra Kumar, SDM Sadar Santveer, CO Sadar Devesh Singh, Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar reached the spot along with revenue personnel and fire brigade team.

The officers tried hard to convince Sriprakash through loudspeaker, but he remained adamant on his demand. To bring the young man down, the SDM immediately ordered re-measurement of the land under the leadership of the Tehsildar and the measurement started on the spot. Despite this he did not come down from the tower. At around 2 pm (after 7 hours had passed) suddenly Shriprakash fell down from the tower. The police immediately took him to the district hospital, but by then the doctors declared him dead.

Villagers’ serious allegation: “Hand released after officer’s threat”

After the incident, the villagers got angry and started protesting accusing the administrative officials of insensitivity.

  • Threat to send to jail: Umesh Yadav and other villagers of the village allege that the Naib Tehsildar present at the spot started warning Shriprakash from below that if he did not come down immediately, a case would be registered against him and he would be sent to jail.

  • Balance disturbed: According to the villagers, shortly after this threat, in fear or panic, Shriprakash left his hand from the tower and fell straight down.

DM sets up investigation, report will come in 3 days

Jaunpur District Magistrate (DM) Samuel Paul N has clarified the situation by issuing a statement on this entire matter. The DM said that the young man had climbed the tower demanding re-stone-filling of the land. The administration accepted his demand and started measurement on the spot. Police and fire brigade teams were trying to bring him down safely, but in the meantime the young man lost his balance and this tragic accident happened.

Assurance of action: Considering the anger of the villagers and the seriousness of the allegations against the officials, the DM has constituted a high level inquiry committee under the leadership of ADM Finance and Revenue. This committee will investigate the entire matter and submit its report within 3 days, on the basis of which strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.
