Dehradun, 6 April (HS). On the instructions of the Supreme Court, a two-day Northern Region Conference of the Family Court Committee was inaugurated in Dehradun on Saturday. The aim of the conference is to make every person, even if not facing any case in the family court, aware that it is mandatory to follow it in future when their children get married and have a child. This information will also have to be passed on to the coming generations.
In the inaugural session of the workshop, Justice Hima Kohli of the Supreme Court, New Delhi unveiled the e-compendium prepared by the Family Court Committee of the Supreme Court. Also virtually inaugurated the new crèche and child counseling room being prepared in the Dehradun New District Court complex. In the five sessions of the workshop, various points related to the Family Court were discussed in detail.
Children's room will be built in every family court, counselors will be appointed.
It was told in the conference that the division bench of Uttarakhand High Court has directed the state government to appoint two counsellors, one child counselor and one general counsellor. With this, the mental needs of the children of the parents who file a case in the family courts of four major districts namely Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar can be examined so that the children do not have to suffer mentally. Instructions have also been given to set up a children's room in every family court, so that a positive environment can be created for the children of parents who litigate.
Creche will be built in the new court complex of Dehradun
A nursery crèche has been established in ADR on the instructions of the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court. The process of appointment of a General Counsel for counseling in cases of matrimonial disputes, senior citizens' disputes etc. and a Child Counsel for counseling of children in broken disputes is in progress at the Mediation and Conciliation Centre-ADR Center in the High Court Complex. A crèche is also being established in the new court complex of Dehradun.
