News India Live, Digital Desk: The Jharkhand government on Wednesday took a historic step towards strengthening the health services and medical education of the state. In the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister 53 offers The most prominent ones were the decision to establish four new medical colleges and stipend for foreign medical graduates (FMGs).

1. Medical colleges on PPP mode in four districts

of the state Dhanbad, Jamtara, Giridih and Khunti Sadar hospitals will now be upgraded and developed as medical colleges.

Model: this project PPP (Public-Private Partnership) Will be based on mode.

Funding (VGF): It will be implemented under the ‘Viability Gap Funding’ (VGF) scheme of the Central Government.

Dhanbad: Under Sub-Plan-1 (Central 30%, State 30% assistance).

Khunti, Jamtara and Giridih: Under Sub-Plan-2 (Centre 40% capital expenditure + 25% operating expenditure; balance to be borne by the State Government).

2. Good news for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMG)

The government has given big relief to the students of Jharkhand returning after studying MBBS from abroad.

Stipend: Now foreign medical graduates are allowed to undergo internship in medical colleges of the state. ₹17,500 per month Will get a stipend of Rs.

Objective: This will provide financial assistance to those students who are completing their mandatory internship.

3. Doctors will be prepared at local level: Health Minister

Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari Welcoming this decision, he said that it is necessary to increase medical colleges at the local level to overcome the shortage of doctors in the state. “I am an example of this myself, I had to go out of the state for studies. Preparing doctors at the local level will improve the quality of health services and patients will not need to go to other states for treatment.”
