There is no shortage of resources in Uttarakhand, there is a need to utilize them

Dehradun, 06 April (HS). Today India is representing the world. We have to channelize the energy of youth in a constructive direction to create a developed India in the next 25 years. Our contribution is needed in developed nation. There is no dearth of resources in Uttarakhand but the youth are not able to utilize those resources fully.

On Saturday, University Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri said these things while addressing a one-day workshop on the theme of Developed India @2047, promoting rural prosperity and understanding the participation of youth in developed India at Guru Ram Rai University. University Chancellor Mahant Devendra Das Maharaj and Vice Chancellor Professor Yashbir Diwan sent their best wishes to the organizers for the successful organization of the workshop.

Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri also said that it is important to connect the youth with employment by encouraging the production of food grains. He said that the youth will have to learn the skills of marketing for this, only then they will be able to become self-reliant and will be able to play an important role in making India self-reliant.

On this occasion, the first speaker of the workshop and the chief guest of the workshop, Dr. Omprakash, the famous Principal Scientist of the Department of Agricultural Extension Education, ICAR Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, gave a lecture on the topic 'Sustainable Agriculture and Climate'.

He talked about the possibilities of expansion of agriculture while drawing the attention of youth on all sectors for the development of the country. He talked about increasing the productivity of barren land and increasing agricultural production through technology. Throwing light on the effects of climate change and the problems of the current agricultural sector, he said that there is only one solution for this and that is climate smart integrated farming system.

The second speaker of the workshop, Dr. Deepak Kholia, expressed his views on promoting rural prosperity by promoting mariculture, sericulture and beekeeping. He made the students aware and told them about the employment possibilities in these fields. In the workshop, students participated enthusiastically in the technical sessions and interacted with the experts.

Nodal Officer of the programme, Professor Malvika Kandpal said that Guru Ram University is constantly doing new experiments in the field of agriculture through education as well as outreach programmes. For this reason the university is today a well-known name in the field of agriculture.

Professor Priyanka Bankoti, Dean, School of Agriculture, said that Guru Ram Rai University is the only private university in Uttarakhand, which has received the recognition of ICAR. Our students are engaged in agricultural work at national and international level and are becoming participants in the development of the country, which is a matter of pride for the university. The coordinators of the program were Dr. Himanki Dabral and Dr. Moinuddin.

On this occasion, IQAC Director Professor Suman Bij, Chief Controller of Examinations Professor Sanjay Sharma, Dean Student Welfare Professor Kanchan Joshi, Dean School of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Geeta Rawat, Dr. Moinuddin Chishti, Dr. Himanki and other deans, heads of departments of all the schools of the university were present. Students along with teachers were present.
