With this decision of the government, the pockets of workers working in cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur and Lucknow, which are considered industrial hubs, will now be in their pockets. The new rates have been implemented with immediate effect, which is expected to provide great relief to the workers in the era of inflation.

Wages increased in three categories

According to the notification issued by the Labor Department, the wage rates have been divided into three main categories. In this, different wage increases have been fixed for unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers. The main objective of the government is to ensure that the income of workers also increases in proportion to the rising inflation, so that their standard of living can improve.

Special benefits to workers of Noida and Ghaziabad

A large number of workers are employed in the industrial areas of western Uttar Pradesh, especially Noida and Ghaziabad. Lakhs of workers working in companies and factories here will now get monthly salaries as per the increased rates. The Labor Department has clarified that if any employer or company pays less than the prescribed minimum wage, strict legal action will be taken against it. For this, instructions have been given to regional labor offices for monitoring.

Also got the benefit of Dearness Allowance (VDA)

Along with the increase in minimum wage, the government has also revised the Variable Dearness Allowance. This means that as the consumer price index increases in future, the wages of workers will also be increased proportionately. This decision will provide social security and economic strength not only to the workers in the organized sector but also to the workers in the unorganized sector.
