Keshav Prasad Maurya today warmly welcomed and congratulated the ‘Peace March’ of the revered Buddhist monks carrying the sacred message of world peace at his official residence, 7 Kalidas Marg in Lucknow. He said that the thoughts of Lord Buddha are not just a philosophy but an art of living. Only his message of peace can liberate the world from conflicts and lead it towards a secure future.
On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with Buddhist monks and described the principles of Lord Buddha as extremely necessary in the current global scenario. Addressing the welcome ceremony, the Deputy Chief Minister said that today when many countries of the world are going through mutual conflict, animosity and instability, Lord Buddha’s teachings of ‘compassion, non-violence and peace’ have become more relevant than ever.
He stressed that only the path shown by Tathagat Buddha can save humanity from destruction and lead to welfare. This peace march is a commendable effort to sow the seeds of brotherhood and harmony in the society and underlining the importance of Buddhist traditions on the holy land, he said that the state government is committed to spreading the peace messages of great men and saints to the people.
