The incident occurred on Saturday (April 11, 2026) morning, when the elderly had come out of the house for their daily work. After this incident, there is mourning in the entire area and huge anger is being seen among the villagers against the forest department.

According to the information received, the deceased has been identified as a resident of the village falling under Chandil forest area of the district.
The severity of the attack: Eyewitnesses said that the elderly had gone towards the fields near their house on Saturday morning. Then a wild elephant hiding in the bushes suddenly attacked them.
Death on the spot: The elephant picked up the old man with his trunk and threw him and then crushed him with his feet. By the time the villagers reached the spot with sticks and torches after hearing the sound of the attack, the old man had died and the elephant ran away towards the forest.
