A speeding bus of St. Mary’s School on Daurala-Lavad road went out of control and overturned on the roadside. At the time of the accident, more than 30 children were traveling in the bus. As soon as the bus turned, there was an outcry on the spot. Fortunately, no one died in this horrific accident, but more than a dozen children have been injured, out of which the condition of three is said to be critical. The driver lost control of the bus while taking a turn on the Daurala-Lavad road. Due to a pothole on the roadside, the bus completely overturned on one side. Immediately after the accident, villagers working in the nearby fields ran to the spot and started the rescue operation. Police were informed, after which the ambulance reached the spot and the injured were admitted to the nearest hospital.
Questions on negligence of school administration and bus driver
The anger of the parents who reached the spot after the accident was at its peak. Family members allege that despite the fog, the bus driver was driving at very high speed. Besides, questions are also being raised regarding the fitness and standard of the bus. The police have taken the bus driver into custody and started investigating the matter. SP City said that the injured are undergoing treatment and a report on the documents and safety standards of the bus has been sought from the school administration. Strict action will be taken if negligence is found.
