Under the chairmanship of Keshav Prasad Maurya, a high level review meeting was held with senior officials of Rural Development, Rural Engineering, Food Processing and National Integration departments at 7-Kalidas Marg. The Deputy Chief Minister gave clear instructions that all departments should ensure 100 percent achievement of the target in their public welfare schemes. He said in strong words that the budget allocated for development works should not lapse under any circumstances and its timely and transparent utilization should be ensured.
Instructions and decisions in the meeting:
Rural Development and Rural Engineering: The Deputy Chief Minister directed that better coordination should be established for effective implementation of Central Government schemes so that rural areas can get maximum benefits.
Transparency in Training (DDU-SIRD): Deen Dayal Upadhyay State Institute of Rural Development was instructed to make arrangements to provide training to 1 lakh people every month. For transparency, attendance of all trainers will be made mandatory through biometric means. Besides, a detailed department-wise training calendar should also be issued.
Modern Road Construction (UPRRDA): Uttar Pradesh State Rural Roads Agency was directed to construct eco-friendly and long lasting roads based on new technology, thereby strengthening the rural infrastructure.
Women Empowerment (State Livelihood Mission): In line with the vision of the Prime Minister, instructions were given to take action on war footing to achieve the target of creating 3 crore Sakhis (Lakhpati Didi).
The Commissioner ordered the Rural Development Department to prepare programs for ‘Ji Ram Ji Yojana’ in all the districts of the state.
The Public Enterprises Department was instructed to make new public welfare schemes in the name of great men.
In the end he warned the officials that strict action would be taken against those who are lax in their work.
